First of all, what is In The Game High School Sports Magazine®?
In The Game High School Sports Magazine® is a branded publication that recognizes local high school sports. We currently produce an edition for each of five areas: South Georgia, Columbus Valley, Middle Georgia, Cobb·Cherokee Counties and Southeast Georgia. Those editions focus on high school athletic programs within its coverage area. A map of coverage areas is here.
How much does it cost a school to participate?
Nothing. : )
How does a school become involved?
If a school within one of our coverage areas wants to become involved, all they have to do is let us know. We take care of the arrangement and artistic presentation of the content they share. Guidelines for submission are here.
What other information is in the magazines?
In addition to school content, every issue has four primary feature articles:
Features
Player Spotlight recognizes an outstanding athlete within each coverage area. This student excels in their sport and desires to go to the next level after high school.
Academic Athlete features an area student who successfully participates in an athletic program and maintains a high grade point average.
Rising Star is dedicated to recognizing an incredible up-and-coming athlete who is not in high school yet but will make an impact at that level.
Coach’s Corner shines the spotlight on an exceptional coach within the respective coverage area. He or she makes a tremendous difference in their program.
There are other features as well, which vary with each issue and area. Some examples are 1 on One, On the Flip Side and our newest features, Freshman Focus and Sophomore Standout. As space permits, we include other informative articles on a wide variety of subjects relevant to high school athletics.
How is an individual selected for a feature?
The athletes featured in our magazines are selected by each area publisher. We encourage and accept nominations from coaches, schools, parents, athletes and our readers. If you would like to nominate someone, please do so here.
Does an athlete have to pay anything to be featured in your magazine?
Absolutely not. And we give him or her extra copies of the magazine to share with friends and family.
How many issues are there a year?
Each edition (area) publishes 11 issues a year, during the months of August through June. We do not print July issues.
How is inthegamemagazine.com different from In The Game High School Sports Magazine®?
Our website archives the monthly feature articles for each magazine on their own special section of our website. The content may vary for each area, just like the magazines. We occasionally have web-only content or photography.
I’ve seen other magazines that look similar to In The Game. Do you produce other high school sports magazines too?
No. Our magazines are titled In The Game High School Sports Magazine® and each area edition name is noted in the upper right corner. We created our business model and our features, so if you see an imitation or a knock-off, we'd like to know about it.
I’m looking for an article that was in your magazine. Is it on the website?
If it was a feature, yes. Go to the appropriate area (under the Locations tab or Publications link) and use the search box if you can't find what you are looking for. As of March 2009, all features are archived by area. Articles submitted by schools are also online, archived by area. If you have a problem finding something, just let us know. We’ll point you in the right direction.
Can I buy a subscription or a single copy or a back issue online?
YES! Click on the Subscribe tab and all the links are there. For security reasons, we do require you to register with our website in order to use the shopping cart. You may also download and print a subscription form for the appropriate area and mail it in if you prefer.
I would like to advertise my business in one or more of your magazines. How do I do that?
Call us at 1-888-715-GAME. Our office is open 9-5, Monday through Friday, and we'll be happy to assist you.
Do you have ad space available on the website?
Yes! We have available ad space on each area site for local businesses and on the main site for multi-market advertisers. Please contact us for more information.
